Engineering machinery trusses, lifting equipment components, carriage profiles, large welded load-bearing structures, and sports equipment profiles.
7003 is a medium-to-high-strength Al-Zn-Mg alloy with a low-copper design. It is one of the few weldable high-strength alloys in the 7-series and has excellent extrusion formability, suiting load-bearing profiles with fairly complex cross-sections.
The T651 stress-relieved version reduces spring-back in machining and balances strength with machining stability, which is a clear advantage in structures that must be welded yet need high strength.
It suits heavy-duty industrial trusses, construction machinery trusses, lifting equipment components, vehicle body profiles, large welded load-bearing structures and sports equipment profiles. Its long-term creep resistance at constant temperature is limited, so it is not recommended for linear slide bases under long-term high-speed reciprocating impact.
