3003 is an Al-Mn corrosion-resistant alloy with excellent plasticity, corrosion resistance and weldability. It is slightly stronger than pure aluminum, has outstanding bending and deep-drawing performance in thin sheet, and is stable in damp and generally corrosive environments.

It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, so there is no T651 temper. It suits thin sheet work built around forming and welding, and it also takes surface finishes well.

It is mostly used for heat exchange fins, heat exchangers, chemical storage tanks, air ducts, oil tanks, decorative nameplates and thin sheet metal housings for equipment. It is not recommended for linear module load-bearing bases, as heavy-allowance CNC machining tends to cause spring-back, making long-term micron-level dimensional stability hard to maintain.
