Aerospace components, lightweight robot arms, precision tooling fixtures, mold blanks, and racing car structural parts.
7075 is an ultra-high-strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy whose strength is very high among commonly used aluminum alloys. The T651 pre-stretched, stress-relieved version suits statically loaded precision tooling and lightweight structural parts, machines to a good surface finish and is often chosen where strength-to-weight ratio matters.
Its creep and corrosion resistance are lower than 6061 and its weldability is poor, so it is usually combined with surface treatment and is not recommended for welded structures.
It is commonly used for aerospace components, lightweight robot arms, precision tooling fixtures, mold blanks and racing car structural parts. It is not suitable for linear module bases under long-term high-speed reciprocating impact and continuous constant-temperature operation.
