7050 is an aerospace-grade, ultra-high-strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy. The T7451 pre-stretched, stress-relieved thick plate has excellent hardenability and uniform mechanical properties through thick sections, with better fracture toughness and stress corrosion resistance than 7075, suiting precision CNC machining of large thick plates.

Properties are consistent through the thickness of the plate and the risk of deformation after machining is lower, so it is often used for large parts with high structural reliability requirements.

It is mostly used for aircraft fuselage frames, bulkheads, wing spars, large vacuum suction platforms, injection mold blanks and large load-bearing thick plates for heavy equipment. Its creep resistance is lower than 6061-T651, so it is not recommended for servo linear module bases under long-term constant-temperature, high-speed reciprocating impact.
