1100 is an industrial pure aluminum with excellent plasticity, outstanding deep-drawing and bending formability and good corrosion resistance. It welds and takes surface treatment well and has excellent thermal conductivity.

It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, so there is no T651 temper. Its strength and rigidity are low, so it suits thin sheet work centered on stamping, bending and drawing.

It is mostly used for general stamped sheet metal parts, equipment sheet, housings, heat-dissipation covers, heat exchanger plates, cookware, decorative panels and nameplates. It is not recommended for linear module load-bearing bases, as its rigidity is insufficient and it tends to deform after heavy-allowance CNC machining, making micron-level datum accuracy hard to maintain.
